Whether you’ve barely begun planning and don’t know where to start, or you’re knee-deep and already swamped by the sheer magnitude of important styling decisions and suppliers’ pressing questions ahead of your wedding day, you might want to consider getting a professional on the case. Enter inspiring, styling dream team The Event Edit

When besties (and UNVEILED Network Members) Laura and Gabriella joined forces to plan one of their own weddings they realised that, together, they could do anything! Fast forward to present day and the wedding styling duo are unstoppable! With a background in the fashion industry, venue styling came naturally but the contrasting personal styles means that, with these two, you’re getting all the bases covered, from glam romance to boho eccentricity and back again.

We’ve been speaking to Laura about how she and Gabriella take the stress and worry away for their couples, the trends they see emerging in the coming months, and why hiring an event stylist is such a good idea in the first place. We’ve also got their top three tips for brides and grooms thinking about style in the lead up to the big day, whether you decide to DIY it or you enlist a pro (or two!) to do all the hard work.

And the good news is that The Event Edit are even offering you wonderful Brides Up North readers a 20% discount throughout February and March for all couples that are getting married in 2021, so make sure you read on to get deets of that amazing deal too!

Briefly introduce yourself and your business?

The Event Edit is a prop hire and venue styling business headed up by us, the co-directors, Laura and Gabriella. It specialises in luxury bohemian and modern industrial styles, whether you want a super cool industrial vibe, vintage glamour or a whimsical bohemian look, The Event Edit has it all.

Where did your passion for styling and planning come from – and how did it turn into a career?

Gabriella had worked in the fashion industry for 10+ years doing creative roles and both directors share a love for interior design, so when I got engaged and asked Gabriella to be her Maid of Honour, venue styling became our obsession. The juxtaposition between my romantic yet glamorous style paired with Gabriella’s bohemian, eccentric flare makes the perfect match to create visionary events that are personal to you.
